Unnecessarily complicated

I’m still feeling the effects of Valentine’s Day and I’m just thinking about what love is. How do you know when you love somebody? Is there such a thing as being incapable? How much do outside factors play a part, like your parents or your first introduction to romantic and sexual intimacy? It should be simple to feel a deep affection for someone and be able to act on it comfortably. There is so much extra “noise” around it that makes it seem inaccessible. Is that a human thing where we just like to over complicate shit or is that really just what love is?

I’m talking both romantic and platonic. Any relationship that isn’t by default like your family (you still have to build those relationships, but the love is usually automatically there). Depending on the person and the birth chart, one form of love is easier. Platonic love is easier for me personally.

Romantic

Babe, you gotta dig deep for this one. You have to be careful to not let your Venus be too superficial only going for the quick surface level pleasures like sex and attraction. Romantic love is intricate; it demands layers. You need that initial spark, yes, but also compatibility, shared values, and intimacy, just an undeniable connection. Even after everything aligns for you, you have to hope that it aligns for the other person in the same way.

Venus is the planet of love, beauty, pleasure, and harmony. This is expressed in different ways depending on the other influences in the chart. At its core, Venus just wants to feel good, literally a “soft girl” life, whether it’s through beauty and aesthetics, creativity, or relationships, the goal is finding fulfillment. That’s why its important to know this placement in order to understand how you show love and how you need to receive love.

The Moon is a significant celestial body and its placement influences emotional nature, instincts, and responses. Understanding the moon in your chart is kind of like someone raiding your bedroom going through your underwear drawer. It is a representative of you at your most vulnerable or intimate self. Who are you when nobody’s watching? Who are you when everybody’s watching?

The Moon and Venus combined can indicate a person’s love language.

Platonic

This is where I feel you can be the most vulnerable because there is no need to maintain a level of desire like in romantic relationships. Platonic love is usually the easiest and most healing kind of love to form. Venus can be playful and tap into a child-like energy which is great even in adult friendships. Moon synastry creates a safe space for sharing secrets and opening up. Building real trust and healthy boundaries is imperative!

My experience with love has been difficult

Leo Venus, Aquarius Moon, and Mars in the 7th house.

So… I have never been in love. I’ve also never been in a serious committed relationship. I had a moment back in high school where I thought I was in love with the first guy that I was intimate with, but our relationship wasn’t fulfilling enough. My love language is quality time and acts of service immediately after. That Leo Venus in my chart needs to be loved out loud, no reading between the lines, no guessing games just full all encompassing love! Mars being in that house of relationships makes things complicated, it usually attracts unnecessary conflict or secret animosity.

My true lovers have been my friends. Having an Aquarius Moon, I thrive in communities and being surrounded by people with similar goals, ideals and interests. I didn’t grow up with a super affectionate family and I never really felt comfortable being myself at home, so my friends have always been so important to me. Along with that though, I have had some really rough friendship heartbreaks that taught me a lot about love and creating boundaries.

Now, the love of my life IS the love of my life. I am taking all of that external love and giving it back to myself
