This first issue is all about fresh starts. I don’t know if it’s the Aries rising in me, but starting has always been the easy part. I’m an expert at starting, but a beginner at finishing. This magazine, as a whole, is a personal promise to myself to see things through, finish strong, and take it as far as I possibly can.
As you read this issue, you’ll understand why starting fresh is always a good thing in any circumstance. It’s all about perspective. Even if you have to begin the same exact process multiple times, you carry more knowledge than you did before. With each attempt, you get further.
That’s not to say it can’t be frustrating. Your brain will convince you that it was so obvious and should’ve been easy the first time around. But I want to encourage patience and understanding. As long as there’s another day on the calendar, you have the opportunity to begin again.
This letter is just as much for myself as it is for the reader: once you take the risk to start, find joy in the journey instead of trying to jump ahead to the finish line. It may not be perfect immediately, but it can always be real.
