Dating is quite literally not that hard. People over complicate it by not being able to answer a simple question: Do you like them or not?! If there isn’t a clear answer of yes, then it’s no! Maybe this has gotten confusing with social media influencing the way that people go about dating but if we’re being honest, it doesn’t take that long to know if you are feeling somebody.
Let’s look at the progression of relationships. If you want to skip the first few steps and go straight into the relationship part, hit my phone.
The way I see it:
Talking – A few weeks of getting to know each other, cute little fun dates, but no strings. If your “talking” stage lasts longer than a month (being generous) somebody is not that into it.
Dating – A bit more exclusive. Not really entertaining anyone else, but there shouldn’t be a penalty if you are. Also more opening up & intimacy. It’s basically my man that’s not my man…yet.
Relationship – A commitment, a title, and really growing together. Being more vulnerable and open to showing the good, bad, and ugly. Doing cute stuff like helping you take out your wig braids or picking his ingrown hairs <3. This is also when you can start going through that phone!
Honorable Mention *Situationship – You get this when one person wants a relationship, and the other is not that into it but also won’t end things. Usually the messiest break ups, even though it was never a relationship. These are the ones that never go away too, they pop up randomly like a common cold.
How to tell if the signs like you:
Aries – They’re ready to skip every stage.
“If I like you, you’re mine.” No confusion, no games, no patience. If they’re not claiming you in some way… they don’t like you like that.
Taurus – They make time for you consistently with real effort. Planning dates, spending money, getting comfortable with you. If a Taurus likes you, you’ll feel it in their routine.
Gemini – They actually consider you. They want to talk, yes but more importantly, they don’t disappear. If they’re asking about your day and remembering little details?? Oh they’re locked in.
Cancer – Already picturing a future with you after one good date. You’ll feel cared for immediately. Soft, attentive, a little delusional. If they like you, you’re basically in a relationship in their head.
Leo – They’re proud of you. Showing you off, hyping you up, posting you, bringing you around. If a Leo likes you, you’re not a secret, you’re a trophy.
Virgo – They do things for you.
Fixing problems, giving advice, helping your life run smoother. It might not feel “romantic,” but if a Virgo is investing effort into you… they like you bad.
Libra – They choose you.
Because let’s be real… they’re nice to everybody. So if they’re consistently prioritizing you, and actually making decisions?? Yeah, it’s serious.
Scorpio – They let you in.
Not fully (relax), but enough. If they’re opening up, being vulnerable, or letting you see their real emotions, you’ve already passed a test you didn’t know you were taking.
Sagittarius – They stay still.
This is the biggest one. If they’re making time, texting back, and not acting like they’re “too busy living life”… they like you alot.
Capricorn – They invest in you.
Time, energy, resources. They’re always thinking long-term quietly. If they’re showing up for you consistently, you’re part of the plan.
Aquarius – You’re their friend first.
And I mean a real friend. Conversations, shared interests, mental connection. If it feels like you’re building something solid before romance…that’s how you know.
Pisces – They romanticize you.
You’re in their playlists, their dreams, their little fantasies. If a Pisces likes you, you’ll feel like you’re in a love story.
It’s actually very simple. When someone likes you, you don’t have to decode it. Confusion is the first sign they don’t.
